The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that death of Kandi Burruss’s ex-fiance A.J. Jewell has been deemed a homicide. While the autopsy reports show that Jewell ultimately died of complications from Sickle-Cell Anemia, the medical examiner said:

“Although Mr. Jewell died of complications of his underlying natural disease conditions, [the] complications would not have occurred if he had not experienced the extreme exertion that was part of the physical altercation,” the report said. “Due to the active involvement of another person, the manner of death is classified as a homicide.”


Jewell was part of a physical altercation outside of an Atlanta strip club, an establishment that Jewell was rumored to be investing in.
