Canadian rapper and Young Money phenom Drake has decided to cancel his upcoming European tour due to a family emergency. In a statement today he said:

“Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated…In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years. I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy during this time.”

During his recent MTV documentary special, “Better Than Good Enough” Drake admitted that his mother was battling an illness but did not reveal specific details. To see the documentary in its entirety, click here.

Chris Brown has been denied access to Great Britain as part of a small summer tour series due to his conviction from a 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Popeater.com is reporting:

Officials confirmed to BBC News that the singer’s visa application was scuttled: “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offense. Public safety is one of our primary concerns.”

Brown took to Twitter last night to express his disappointment in the visa denial but has since deleted those comments.

Rihanna took the stage at the “Rock in Rio” festival in Arganda del Rey, Spain on Saturday rocking a new fire engine red hairstyle.

4 shows into Lil’ Kim’s cross-country tour, the female MC and her guest Ray J took New York City’s Fillmore at Irving Plaza to perform “Wait a Minute” and voice their opinions on the current state of females in the industry. According to HipHopDX.com:

Ray J took a moment to express his feelings on females in rap, primarily Nicki Minaj. “I’m seeing a lot of Lil Kim imposters,” Ray J stated. “I’m not saying no names, but you know who,” he continued, referencing biting Kim’s style after calling Kim the greatest female rapper ever. Lil Kim added, “We love her. We just want her to pay homage,” making an obvious reference to Minaj. “If you don’t pay homage then f*ck you,” she concluded.

Despite an on-going controversy with Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera s first 2 singles have failed to impact the charts and it looks like fans will have to wait until 2011 to see her take the stage.

Live Nation, the tour’s promoter, has released the following statement:

“Christina Aguilera ‘s summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film, ‘Burlesque,’ and to the promotion of her new album, ‘Bionic.’ The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour dates this wasn’t possible.”

Her new album, Bionic, hits stores June 8th.
