Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowels, wife of Prince Charles, spoke out yesterday condemning Beyoncé and other artists for the overtly sexual and violent images they spread to young, influential children. The discussion took place between the Duchess and victims of sexual violence while Camilla was touring the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre in Croydon, South London.
The Duchess referenced Beyoncé’s latest project “Video Phone (Remix)” with Lady Gaga in which she dances around in skimpy outfits with toy guns.
While she blames the media for much of the overexposure to such images, Parker-Bowels also went onto say “…schools needed to become involved in teaching both male and female schoolchildren ‘the value of respect for each other'”(DailyMail)
The video for Beyonce’s “Video Phone” remix featuring Lady Gaga has finally been released after Sony pulled back its original November 5th release date. As expected, the fashion throughout the entire video is bright and exciting. The video was directed by Hype Williams who also directed Mariah Carey’s “I Want to Know What Love Is” on an earlier post. This remix will be available on Beyonce’s re-release of I Am…Sasha Fierce due out November 23rd.
Beyonce and Lady Gaga have teamed up in the studio on 2 highly anticipated and top-secret tracks. First up is “Video Phone Remix” comes from Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce which is set for a special re-launch this month. The song remains mostly untouched but does feature a new verse and some ad-libs from Lady Gaga throughout the track. The video for this song has been put together and was set for a November 5th release but Sony decided to push it back to coincide with Beyonce’s album re-release.
Next up is Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” from her The Fame: Monster release also scheduled for a November 23rd release.
Personally, I liked the original version of Beyonce’s Video Phone enough that I wouldn’t have changed it but I love the direction of “Telephone.” It’s typical Lady Gaga music and shows Beyonce’s versatility and her Sasha Fierce toughness.
Lady Gaga continues to inspire some and puzzle others with her latest video for “Bad Romance.” Her latest release comes off of the much anticipated album “The Fame: Monster” scheduled for a November 23rd release. The album is expected to have 8 new tracks including “Telephone” with Beyoncé which has already begun generating significant buzz.
